Gerard Butler continues his one man crusade to keep big screen action films alive with his latest outing in the genre.

In Plane Butler unsurprisingly plays Brodie Torrance a Scottish pilot who, after a lightning strike, is forced to land his plane on a remote island in the Philippines. After his passengers are taken hostage by the viscous thugs who run the island it’s up to Brodie and Louis Gaspare (Mike Colter), an accused murderer who was being transported by the FBI, to try and rescue then.

Plane is never going to win any awards but it’s a great piece of leave your brains at the door nonsense. If you’re after a piece of escapist entertainment then Plane comes highly recommended
