STUDIOCANAL has announced the release of a brand-new 4K restoration of the classic British social satire,NOTHING BUT THE BEST, that
will be available to own on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital from August
26.
This new 4K restoration of this biting comedy comes complete with
brand-new extras and is the newest addition to the ever-expanding Vintage Classics Collection.
Directed by Clive Donner (What’s New Pussycat,
The Caretaker) and scripted by Academy Award winner Frederic Raphael (Darling, Far
From The Madding Crowd) NOTHING BUT THE BEST is a highly-acclaimed
biting social satire adeptly lensed by Nic Roeg who earnt a BAFTA-Award
nomination for cinematography. Alan Bates (Far From the Madding Crowd, The
Go-Between) stars as an ambitious young real-estate clerk determined to
crawl his way to the top of the social pile, with Denholm Elliott (A Room
with a View, Raiders of The Lost Ark) playing the disreputable aristocrat
who teaches him all he needs to know and Millicent Martin (Alfie, Those
Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines) as the girl he sets out to woo
and win.

Jimmy Brewster is a working-class lad using his
dynamism and abundant charm to overcome any obstacles to the champagne
